Google Developers – Job Postings for Search

By Colleen Frye

As business owners & managers, you can appreciate it when we say, ‘It can be really hard to find a great, new hire’. Whether you’re hiring for your company regularly or you’re seeking new hires every couple years, it can be an arduous process. Our clients often contact us to help them cast a larger net when it comes to the participants they have to choose from. We offer a variety of ways to help our clients, some opportunities include:

  • Create a hiring process on the website that includes a resume uploader
  • Help post job opportunities to social media
  • Utilize Facebook’s NEW Job tab
  • Plus several other ideas that we’ve got up our sleeves!

We’re always looking to expand the offerings we provide to our clients when it comes to hiring & that’s when we stumbled upon a new Google schema specifically for job postings!

We can help you attract job candidates by adding job posting structured data to your website! Adding structured data makes your job postings eligible to appear within a special section within Google Search results. You can also integrate with Google by using a third party job site – such as Facebook & ZipRecruiter.

Here is an example of a Google Search Result for the search “Jobs near Cincinnati, OH” :

What does this mean for your business?

  • Prominent place in search results: Your postings are eligible to be displayed in the dedicated Job Search area – which features your logo, job details, plus more!
  • Motivated applicants: Because of the extensive filter options, Google says that you’re more likely to get better matched applicants for your business
  • Increased chances of discovery: Job seekers will have a new way to interact with your job postings
