Upright Communications is excited to welcome our new intern, Hailey Dang. To provide an introduction to our most recent team addition, we asked her to share some details about herself and her background:

What is your educational background?

I’m an international student from Vietnam. I’m a senior majoring in Visual Communication Design at Northern Kentucky University, and I also have a minor in Marketing.

What work experience have you had?

Before Upright, I worked at the Kentucky Center for Mathematics for a little bit over a year as a Digital/Social Media Coordinator. After that, I worked at the Flying Pig Marathon for a semester as a Digital/Social Media Intern. I also have fond experience working on a mural project at East Walnut Hills for Billiter Studio!

What are your career goals and aspirations?

My goals are to continue to grow and improve myself as a graphic designer. I’m taking design classes in different areas to hone my skills and am expanding my range of design services to include various mediums, such as print, digital and social media! Getting to work on design projects for many industrial businesses that collaborate with Upright Communications has been an amazing opportunity for me to explore my talents in graphic design. Just recently, I had the opportunity of creating graphics for a metal stamping and drawn wire company!

What will you be doing in your role at Upright?

As an intern at Upright, I have a lot of duties! I’m responsible for content creation, local listings, reputation management, and social media management for many B2B clients’ accounts that Upright has partnered with. My role at Upright has prepared me with essential skills to confidently work in the digital marketing industry, while still allowing me to do the thing I love most, graphic design.

What do you like to do in your free time?

I love taking my dog to the park any time I’m free, I’m grateful to live so close to nature as I’m 5 minutes away from so many parks downtown! I usually bring one of my books with me while I let my dog play and lately, I’ve been rereading The Book Thief, it’s my all-time favorite. I always look forward to the weekend as that’s when I get together with all my friends after a long week of work.

The Upright team is looking forward to all of the great contributions Hailey will be making to our efforts. She is already fitting in perfectly and helping us meet our client goals and objectives.
